Hamster Wheel - Matt Roberts
poem read by Timothy Arliss OBrien
Hamster Wheel
Matt Roberts
Every day begins and ends the same with light then dark
Life is that simple and yet we are constantly studying it
Asking questions with our minds and puzzling it out
Never just enjoying and experiencing lifes' wonder
Instead often trying to beat life with technology
To take shortcuts instead of accepting things
Wanting to prevent ourselves from feeling life
Engaging in any amount of distraction to avoid
When really the hamster's wheel is never going
We will be chasing our tails as long as we think life
Once we begin to listen to our gut we will get peace
Finding the answers we need through self-discovery
Where trust is what leads the way towards self
Understanding our own inner guidance of life
Trusting our intuition and feelings for knowledge
Then we will escape the continual repetitive runway
