Woman, Actually - Stephanie Kerr

poem read by Timothy Arliss OBrien

Woman, Actually
Stephanie Kerr

Hey,

I know you,

I think I do.

You’re that girl…

Who was always so deficient

at making the right choices.

Always finding yourself

in groups where you didn’t

quite fit.

You think we’ll all forget

Who you really are?

Excuse my stare, but I knew you

And now you look like someone else.

Had you all figured out

Melted you down and shoved

You into a box. Shaved off

the excess.

Hey,

I know you.

Never met you

Might remember your name.
