Haunted - Natalia Shea

poem read by Timothy Arliss OBrien

Haunted
Natalie Shea

Bright eyes laughing.

Sharing secrets behind hands.

Then nothing.

Calls and messages left unreturned.

You’ve become a ghost

And I am haunted.

My thoughts dart

Here

And

There

Like water droplets

Glistening on a spider’s web.

I can’t let it go.

It is a sore

I can’t stop picking.

The wondering.

The not knowing.

Did I do something?

Was something said

That you believed?

Though I may be guilty

I can’t defend myself

If I don’t know.
