To Us - M.S.
poem read by Timothy Arliss OBrien
To Us
M.S.
To the grey clouds everyone does not want:
I love you. Because there is beauty in the darker world.
Or perhaps
It is because I see myself in you.
Perhaps I am a grey cloud.
Soon to break down
And hit the ground.
To the rainstorms everyone does not like:
I love you.
Perhaps it’s because I see myself in you.
Perhaps I am a rainstorm.
Breaking down and hitting the ground.
Ruining others’ day, just like I do when
Releasing everything I have been holding inside.
All at once, strong and hard.
To the soft rains everyone wishes was something else:
I love you.
I see beauty in you when others don’t.
Perhaps because I resonate with you.
The soft tears I let go of while alone.
Making sure I don’t ruin others’ days.
Perhaps that is why your tears are soft.
Do you care about others that much?
To the me everyone wishes was better:
I love you.
Even if some don’t,
Because I will always be there for you.
It will be myself and I.
You are enough,
Enough for me
To the us everyone can’t understand:
I love us.
And so does everyone else who finds beauty in
Grey clouds,
Rainstorms,
And soft rains.
Because that is what we are.
That is what I am.
And while it seems like others don’t love us,
I promise you,
There are those who do.
They see beauty in us,
Just like we do.
