Rain

Whispers of the sky

Softly spilling

A gentle symphony

Each drop a note

A melody of memories

Suspended in the air

Waiting for the earth to breathe

Clouds

Heavy with secrets

Drift like dreams

Tumbling in shades of gray,

They gather

A congregation of longing

The sky's own heart

Beating with the rhythm of a storm

And then

It begins

The first touch

A delicate kiss upon the skin

Cool and refreshing

Like the first breath of spring

Awakening the senses

Drawing forth forgotten sighs

Pavement glistens,

A mirror to the world above,

Each puddle a portal,

To the sky's vast canvas

Where colors bleed and mingle

Blues and greens

The dance of light refracting

A prism of life

Children with laughter

Splash through the shallow pools

Each leap a celebration of freedom

Of the innocence of being

The rain washing away the weight of the world
